    Confused

    What is the value of the two-digit number X?

    (1) The sum of the two digits is 4

    (2) The difference between the two digits is 2

    Seems very simple, but the right answer (if not a mistake itself) really confuses.

    Let the digits be p & q

    1) p+q =4 --insufficient
    2) p-q=2 ---Insufficient

    Combining both

    2p=6 => p=3 & q=1 so number X could be either 31 or 13 so Insufficient
