Explanation is correct. Actually total amount of games is unknown.
Your mistake is that you yourself decided the total # of games as 100, but it can be 200 => 200x0.8+4= 164 of games won. Take any other total number, the answer will be different.
Before play-offs, a certain team had won 80 percent of its games. After play-offs, what percent of all its games had the team won?
(1) The team competed in 4 play-off games.
(2) The team won all of its play-off games.
I could not get the Question at all. Could anyone pls post the explantion
My Ans:- Let Bef play , total games played 100
won 80
After combining (1) and (2)
after play off, total games played 100+4=104
won 80+4=84
So, 84/104*100 will give us the Answer.
SPOILER:
But Official Answer is E.... not able to understand. Pls guide.
It reasoning is, let there be X games and the team won .8X games.
After combining (!) and (2)
so total won would be 0.8X+4 and the total games is X+4.
and hence E.

Take it like this... In your school you have 1st term of 10% then half yearly of 70 % and then annual of 100%
If somebody tells you without telling how much 1st term weigh that you have scored 80% in your first term and to get 70% after halfyearly how much you need to score in halfyear, Can you do that without first wanting to know how much exactly 1st term weighs
