    1. M=2 and M+N=2 implies N=0. [sufficient to determine if N=2]

    2. 2^2 + N^2 = 2 implies N^2 = -2 implies N = 2i (complex) [sufficient to determine if N=2]

    So both statements alone are sufficient.

    Is the answer (D) ?

    humm is this question right? mm

    M =2, does n =2?

    1. M+N = 2 which means 2+N=2, which means N=0 SUFFICIENT

    2. M^2+N^2 = 2
    humm this means 4+n^2 = 2
    which is N^2 = -2 ???... I'm guessing this is SUFFICIENT simply because n cannot be 2.

    So D?

    Is the answer D ?

    A is sufficient enough .
    In B ,N^2 = -2 ,that means N is an imaginary number and cannot be equal to 2 .Hence sufficient enough.
