Hi ,

how many miles long is the route from H to C?
(i) it will take 1hr less time to travel the entire route at an avg rate of 55miles/hr than that at an avg rate of 50mls/hr
(ii) it will take 11hrs to travel the 1st half of the route at an avg rate of 25miles/hr
answer:d
This one has the 2nd info as "1st half" . I interpreted it as the route being divided in 1st half, 2nd half and so on. In this way I chose option (a) which (i) is enough to decide the answer

i think the answer is D
(1) let it be route as R and time for covering the route as T
statement 1 tells as that
50*T=R
55*(T-1)=R
we have two unknowns and two equations
50*T=55*(T-1)
50*T=55*T-55
T=11
50*11=550 sufficient
(2)
(0,5)R/11=25
R=550 sufficient
the answer is D
