sqrt(a) +3 = sqrt(2a+17)

This has come up in one of the questions from clock60 ..however I am not able to find the quick solution to solve the eqn except putting value from answer choices ,,

please help ..

U got to square both sides couple of time sand then will get a quadratic equations anf then find roots. should not take more than 2 min. the roots are 16 and 4. please confirm.
