Kaplan DS

Ok, I did the 2005 KAPLAN DS questions and they were very hard. Out of 49 I got a 30. So I spent last night going over all the wrong answers and carefully reviewing my mistakes. Everyone I got wrong was so easy to fix when I looked at the answers. Most of them had the same idea and I marked which ones I should have got right and it came out to a score of 46/49!!!! I was so bummed that I did that bad but now realize that I can overcome my mistakes. They are not that hard, you just have to think the GMAT way. I plan on taking my first real test this weekend, so we shall see how I do. At least I know now that I can handle these questions, I just have to think the GMAT way!!!!

One simple screw that I did is as follows: Is x+y postive?
I had to pick numbers for x and y, but did the following:

(1) x-y = odd. Instead of plugging in x and y (let's say x = 1 and y = 4 where x-y = -3), I used x= 1 and y = -4!!!! Total easy mistakes to fix.

It should be x+y = 5, not 1 + (-4) = -3. Stupid mistakes!!!!

Re: Kaplan DS

Nicholas,

Are you taking real GMAT exam this week end. Did you take any other diagnostic of PP test?

Yes always having a chart to represent the mistakes will always help in reducing the error to a greater degree again.

Nicolas,

Good luck with your test.

I screwed up in my first paper test - received 550!

Re: Kaplan DS

550 is better than 500. That's the score I might be looking at if I don't do good on the verbal section.

Re: Kaplan DS

Anandha, I scored a 550 too!!! What is wrong with us! I did notice that I had around 5-10 minutes left when I was done with the verbal. However, I had no time left in Quant and felt very rushed. Kaplan quant is hard! Hopefully I will get around a 600 on the next practice test. Please let me know how you are progressing. Thanks.
