OG question

Guys is 0 * 0 defined, if yes then what is the value of 0 * 0.

I am little confused because in Official Guide page number 36 it is given that if xy = 0, then either x = 0 or y = 0.

Re: OG question

I am not sure what the confusion is. It says if xy=0 then either x=0 OR y=0 ( OR is important)
One of the numbers can be anything. But if the product of the two is zero, then the other is zero.

Re: OG question

My confusion is the Official Guide says one of the numbers, however, doens't it mean that both x and y cannot be zero.

Re: OG question

hi,

if either x or y = 0, it means that both x and y cannot be 0.
however, 0 * 0 also remains 0, that doesn't change at all. if we were to look into the logic then naturally, only one of them can be zero, while the other variable takes another value.
