fruit compote

I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way - if someone can please show me how to do this:

A restaurant buys fruit in cans containing 3 1/2 cups of fruit each. If the restaurant uses 1/2 cup of the fruit in each serving of its fruit compote, what is the least number of cans needed to prepare 60 servings of the compote?

a. 7
b. 8
c. 9
d. 10
e. 12

7/2*1/2 = 7/4

7/4/1 = x/60 = 105

Why isn't this working? lol

Well, if you put 1/2 cup you get 1 serving. This means there are 30 cups in 60 servings.

Each can contains 3.5 cups. So the number of cans = 30/3.5 >8 , so you need atleast 9 cups

1 can = 7/2 cups

60 servings = 30 cups

Number of cans needed will be > 30/ (7/2) = ~9 cans

1 can can be used for 7 servings (3.5/0.5)

S0 total cans needed = 60/7 = 8.5 or ~9
