    O-O=E; E-E=E; Hence a and b both need to be odd or even. From second statement a/b=E; this means that both a and b are even..now from this you can say a = b * E i.e. a= (2*X)(2*Y); where 2*X=b and 2*Y=E; hence if you divide a/2 you will have an even integer..... from D is (a+2)/2 = a/2 +1; Hence D must be odd.... Does this sound better...
