Can you explain this in more detail abt option 2.I didnt get your point
My concern is when we are asked to prove if y=0 why is the option given as y<1??
Well, what i meant was that since y <1 and y is an integer hence, y could be 0, -1, -2 and so on
now we now consider the cases for x < 0 and x >0
I when x > 0 then y = 2x and 2x > 0
as we know now that y can only by 0 or any negative integer then this possibility is ruled out.

What is the median number of employees assigned per project for the projects at Company Z?
(1) 25 percent of the projects at Company Z have 4 or more employees assigned to each

project.
(2) 35 percent of the projects at Company Z have 2 or fewer employees assigned to each
project

For this question all of us are assuming the median is got to be an integer. Is this assumption correct? Why can't a median be a decimal number..

Sunny...
I don't think that employees in option 2 can be inclusive o fproj in option one..
as option 1 states clearly that no of Emp . >= 4
second option clearly states no. of emp <= 2
hence those clearly are mutually exclusive
remaining emp....between 2 and 4
hence, 3 seems to be right answer.

I agree with Ramz. Conditions 1 and 2 are mutually exclusive. So we are left with 3 as the answer.

IMO E.
no condition stated regarding 1 and 2 being mutually exclusive.

1)25% >4 and 2)35%<2 does not constitute mutual exclusiveness.

OA please

If you combine 1 and 2, the rest 40% has to be greater than 2 and less than 4, else they will fall into 25% or 35% domain.

I somewhat agree with your understanding, but the thing is this is a DS question and not a PS question, else could have assumed

Based on it we can assume if we can assume or not
