Alice's take home pay last year was the same each month, She saved same fraction of her take-home pay each month. The total amount of money that she had saved at the end of the year was 3 times the amount of that portion of her mthly take-home pay that she didn't save.
If all money she saved last yr was from her take home pay, what fraction of her take-home pay did she save each mth?

The question seems a little bit confusing because of "mthly take-home pay that she didn't save"

Home pay per month= x
Saved per month= Y
Question what is y/x?
Spent per month = x-y
Total amount saved = 12y
12y=3(x-y)
15y=3x
X=5y
y/x=y/5y=1/5
