Painting Easter Eggs
Hi! Another Easter Problem:
Andy, Bob and Cindy are hired to paint Easter eggs. In 8 hours Andy can paint 1 egg, Bob can paint 2 eggs, and Cindy can paint 1 and 1/3 egg. They all come to work the first day, but Cindy doesn’t like the job and quits after 3 hours. Bob works a half an hour longer than Cindy and quits. How long will it take Andy to finish the two eggs they were supposed to paint? Please explain. Lolando |

Andy paints 1 egg in 8hr means 2 eggs in 16hrs.
Bob paints 2 eggs in 8 hr. Cindy paints 4/3 egg in 8hr means 2 eggs in 12hr. 3/12 + 7/2/8 + T/16 =1 T/16 = 5/16 T=5hr So andy works for 5 hrs in total. no. of hrs he worked after cindy & bob left=5-3.5=1.5hr(answer) |
