The length of each red stick is 18 inches less than the average length of the sticks in Box W and 6 inches greater than the average length of the sticks in Box V. What is the average (arithmetic mean) length, in inches, of the sticks in Box W minus the average length, in inches, of the sticks in Box V?

Let the length of red = X
In box W, the length of Blue sticks= x + 18
Similarly Length of Blue sticks in V = x - 6
Total average in box W = x+18+x = 2x+18
Total average in boc V = x-6+x = 2x-6
Difference = 18+6 = 24
