This is how I solved the problem- the distance between the two points would be 3.4+5.2 = 8.6. The halfway mark would be at 8.6/2 = 4.3 from either end. Which means the point is at -3.4+4.3 or 5.2-4.3 = 0.9 on the number line. Hope this helps.
