Total No of males = M
Total No of females = F

Given % of master degree M&F,
20% of M = 0.2M
75% of F = 0.75F

Also 30% of total have master degree
0.3T= 0.3(M+F)

So,
0.2M+0.75F = 0.3(M+F)
F=2*M/9
or F/T=2/11

I don't think we have the correct question. I doubt the GMAT would say 75% of females have a masters degree and then ask what fraction of females have a masters degree...

The Q shld read as What fraction of female in the total pop. have Master degree

Let T be the total population;M=Males,F=Females..
Therefore T=M+F

Males with Master Degree = 0.2M
Females with Master Degree = 0.75F
So Total Pop. with mas. Deg = 0.3T=0.3(M+F)

0.3(M+F) = 0.2M+ 0.75F
0.3M+0.3F=0.2M+0.75F
0.1M=0.45F
M=4.5F

coming to Q,

0.75F/T
0.75F/M+F
0.75F/4.5F+F
0.75F/5.5F
75/550
3/22

IMO 3/22 Same way as above
