B is preferable to E because B is in active voice.

what should be the subject of the question.

relative pronoun "that" is the subject, and the nearest antecedent is "communities"

    c) -- correct
    d) its has no antecedent(it should be "their")
    e) they has ambiguous antecedent

    hence C wins

I am thinking "one of the large number" is the subject and hence has to be "is"...I will go with"B"

For the last one I will go with "C";D is too wordy and is not needed

    Please post Official Answer

    (A) one should ask for a written description of one’s purchase
one and one's seems awkward. one should ask for....his purchase

    (B) you should ask for a written description of your purchase
    This sounds right.

    (C) a written discretion of your purchase is what one should ask for
Your and one do not seem to be parallel

    (D) a written description of one’s purchase is what should be asked for
    sounds awkward and passive

    (E) a written description of your purchase is what should be asked for
is this passive. Does should change the meaning of the sentence

what should be the subject of the question.

The answer is C because 'are' modifies 'communities'. E sounds awkward

I think it is D. I think 'the existence of' should be preceded by a possesive. Any comments on this.
