IMO B .. i found B and C close .. took some time before i eliminated C

(B) the artist sketched the monkeys, capturing
their antics. ...the artist sketched monkeys in a way to capture the antics ..
(C) the artist captured the antics of the
monkeys, sketching them. --illogically suggests that artist captured antics in a way to sketch them ..

the action indicated by past tense verb and the action indicated by present participle, both happen at the same time ...one after the other .. so the sequence should be logical .. B maintains that sequence
