The decision by the central bank

The decision by the central bank to raise interest rates in the face of increasing inflation fears has limited sell offs in the stock markets, investor unease, unemployment growth in the public sector, and has established more balanced trading partnerships with several nations.

(A) unemployment growth in the public sector, and has established

(B) unemployment growth in the public sector, and established

(A) unemployment growth in the public sector, and has established---->OK

(B) unemployment growth in the public sector, and established--------->?

© growing unemployment in the public sector, and established--------->This is out(Parallelism compromised)

(D) and unemployment growth in the public sector while establishing----->Keep it

(E) and unemployment growth in the public sector was decreased while establishing-------->decreased is redundant here.We already have 'Limited'

At first glance A seems fine,so do B and D.

A & B are very close. Can anyone pls explain y are they given as 2 separate choices?

The problem with A & B is that...it does not contrast the 2 effects.I mean the 1st part deals with the things that have been limited and the second is something which has been done in addition to the limitations.

I got it.

The 'and' in D makes it a winner. The position of and.And it clearly segregates the 2 sets of benefits.1st the whole lot of limitations and 2nd the balanced partnerships.

I think D.

unemployment growth in the public sector, and has established---->OK

(B) unemployment growth in the public sector, and established--------->?

Example :

X has limited a,b, and has established

you need and before b

X has limited a,b, and established

shows a , b, and established as list

HTH!!!

D is clear.

and unemployment growth . Use of conjunction and is needed to bind all -ve effects like limited sell offs in the stock markets, investor unease, unemployment growth in the public sector.

while is used to introduce another simultaneous + ve development

(A) unemployment growth in the public sector, and has established--> "and" is necessary before 'unemployment growth'

(B) unemployment growth in the public sector, and established--> "and" is necessary before 'unemployment growth'

© growing unemployment in the public sector, and established--> violates the parallelism

(D) and unemployment growth in the public sector while establishing ---> 'and' before 'unemployment growth' maintains the parallelism. and 'while' sounds best.

(E) and unemployment growth in the public sector was decreased while establishing---> violates parallelism

IMO D
