800Bob
1) No one loves you except I. No one loves you except me. "Except" is a preposition and so much be followed by the object pronoun. 2)Please lay down Please lie down. Lay/laid/laid is a transitive verb, used when there is a direct object. Lie/lay/lain in the intransitive verb. 3)Who do you love? Whom do you love? For the direct object of the transitive verb "love" we need the object pronoun. 4)Neither of these cars are worth the money Neither of these cars is worth the money. The pronoun "neither" is singular. 5)Your words seem to infer that Jack is a liar. Your words seem to imply that Jack is a liar. The speaker/writer "implies". The listener/reader "infers". 800Bob
Thanks a lot guys... I wanted to let you know that as per a book by Norman Lewis it is mentioned that "Who do you love?" is correct. I felt that it should have been whom like u guys but :hmm: The language is changing. The word "whom" is almost never used today. Don't worry about it. GMAT Sentence Correction never tests you on the difference between "who" and "whom".
