@Arindam....There is no contrast in the sentence because the sentence does not say anything about the other Muesum's devotion to other things. It just says that some museums are devoted to something and others are open for the summer. That doesn't exactly show contrast. The sentence would have shown contrast if other museums were devoted to things other than local history or various ethinic groups... eg. international history or various types of music... or something...

I was thinking that the sentence means --

Athought there are X museums devoted to A, there are Y museums devoted to B, which opens....

Actually the part of the sentence you constructed that says.... there are Y museums devoted to B... , the bolded part, is not mentioned in the sentence if you look closely.
