Hi All,

I am putting few of the One of the Xs that/who constructions...
Pls comment whether all the below constructions are correct..If not correct..pls point out the mistake in the wrong option...

1. One of the Xs <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use singular Verb
2. Only one of the Xs <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Singular Verb
3. One of the Xs that/who <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Plural Verb
4. only one of the Xs that/who <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Plural Verb
5. the only one of the Xs that who <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Singular Verb
6. the only one of the Xs <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Singular Verb
7. the only one of the Xs that/who <singular/plural Verb> ==> Use Singular Verb

hi adi..yes they are absolutely right..i think 5 and 7 are redundant..

oh ya...7 says the same thing what 5 says..
but had to go thru the ron's link n understand the constructions b4 generalizing it..
