    Can someone please explain the answer

    By necessary, munitions plants hired many young woman during the war; at least as much as 500,00 and more others who had not any previous experience in factory work of any kind.



    A. at least as much as 500,000 and more others who had not any

    B. at least as much as more than 500,000 others who had no

    C. more than 500,000 had not any

    D. more than 500,000 had not no

    E. there were at least 500,000 or more others without any


    Official Answer is D. Can someone explain why???

    The essence of "at least as much as 500,000 and more others" can simply be re-stated as "more than 500,000".

    The rewording is fine, but is 'had not no previous factory experience in factory work of any kind' the right usage? I have never heard of 'had not no' being used anywhere.
    Can you shed some light on this?

    I think it is a typo should be 'had no' and not 'had not no'.

    Are you sure about the answers Securitygeek ?

    Yup,I just copied and pasted from the course. It seems to me that there may be a typo in the original source. It just doesn't sound right.
