seenapanalli
1.Marketing researchers have found that, because many residents of the Southeast do not share the same ethnic heritage as Northeasterners, the two varieties of commercially prepared coleslaw most popular in New York City and Boston are virtually ignored by consumers in Richmond and Raleigh. (A) because many residents of the Southeast do not share the same ethnic heritage as (B) because many residents of the Southeast do not share the same ethnic heritage with © because many residents of the Southeast do not have the same ethnic heritage as (D) due to many residents of the Southeast not sharing the same ethnic heritage with (E) whereas many residents of the Southeast do not share the same ethnic heritage as I choose B, but B is not the correct response. Could someone pls exaplain why C is the correct respone.

Could someone pls exaplain why C is the correct respone. One doesn't share a heritage/background as someone else, One has the same background/heritage as someone else. "C" is the only choice which uses "....have the same ethnic heritage as...." It seems like since might be a better fit than because in the sentence.. shreya.sharma
but i have read that in the idiom "same X as Y" X and Y shuld be the same thing.. but here in C "because many residents of the Southeast do not have the same ethnic heritage as Northeasterners" X=ethnic heritage and Y= Northeasterners are not same..thats why i rejected C and chose B.. plzz explain
aaadith
when two entities share an attribute, it means both the entities have the same attribute. so, saying "share the same X" does not make sense. This mistake is seen in all the choices except C. @shreya.sharma "same X as Y" is not the idiom being tested here
