IMO C, In A now is redundent. Today's technology can not allow manufacture of fuel efficient car of the past.
1. Today’s technology allows manufacturers to make small cars more fuel-efficient now than at any time in their production history.
(A) small cars more fuel-efficient now than at any time in their
(B) small cars that are more fuel-efficient than they were at any time in their
(C) small cars that are more fuel-efficient than those at any other time in
(D) more fuel-efficient small cars than those at any other time in their
(E) more fuel-efficient small cars now than at any time in
i thought it was 'A'

Official Answer is 'C'
the souce is some 'word' document that has like 1000 SC Questions from various sources.
i see why "A" is wrong, todays and now is redundant. however i don't understand how without the "their" the sentence makes any sense. it does not answer whose "production history" we are talking about.
however every other sentence is non sensical so had i figured out why "A" is incorrect i would have choose to go with "C".
