B is out because of the use the destroying (we need destruction) and the use of "and" in the end of B : we nedd to express a consequence. C is out because of is wrong (we cannot replace it by caused by) E is wrong , "and the result was " is not clear. it's more clear if the "result" was before the cause " as a result of ...cause....., consequence" resulting from is not idiomatic Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
