dilipcrangan
Nobody knows exactly how many languages there are in the world, partly because of the difficulty distinguishing between a language and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found about five thousand. (A ) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found (B ) and the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried counting typically finding (C ) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried counting it typically find (D ) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, but those who tried to count them typically found (E ) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried to count typically finding OA after discussion
chopra
IMO A D & E can be ruled out because they are starting with or instead of and. B is wrong because of improper use of them for language. C is wrong because of incorrect tense usage tried find. Hence A
shud
A is good. it for language.

oxygen08
whats wrong with "them" i thought "them" would refer to the sub-languages??

sudhakar.puvvadi
I agree with oxygen08 Explaination . I think Answer is B .
pharmindo
I would go with A. I think the sentence means "the sub-languages or dialects within a language", therefore it should be "the sub-.... within it".
amitg_ind
'them' doesn't refer to languages. D and E are clearly out. And among A B C, rule out B for 'them' and between A and B, A id best.

charu_mulye
IMO A D and E are out for using "or" is tried counting correct ?? try is typically followed by infinitive "tried to count" is better than tried counting I eliminated B and C for that reason. Does nebody support or oppose this point of view ?
