    In D

    (1) The sentence reads like: In few cities ..., but the river .... This breaks parallelism to a certain extent (it should be few cities... but San Antonio...)
    (2) The usage of comas is wrong 'cause arent necessary

    I'd go for E

    It is E.

Author is trying to compare cities here, not river.
In D, sentence tries to compare the river in other cities to the river in san antonio.

    The Official Answer is E.

It was definitely down to D or E. I also picked E just because it "sounded better". But let's get a concrete reason to eliminate E.

I think D makes a correct comparison. A river in cities to the river in San Antonio.

    BGJ,

D does make grammatically correct comparison, but don't you think that is not what author intended to say? (by changing the meaning).

In A, B and C, the comparison is incorrect (river to river or cities to San Antonio).
    Stat D changes the meaning.
Stat E is the best by POE.

    E it is.

D talks "In few US cities....., but the river in SA" which is non-parallel.

The sentence talks about many cities or most cities.

Few cities in D alters the meaning. Moreover the sentence is awkward and
difficult to read. sounds like 3-4 phrases
    Apps all over me !!
