A - awkward (the usage for his attempt at solo... is awkward )
Also before "he therefore" there should be some conjuction conecting both statements as the statement before "he therefore" and after it are independant.

B - again awkward contruction...(When....,being very...)

C- (Since ..So --redundant usage of so)

D - Awakward again (Being very reluctant......was the reason that..)

E - Correct (he here refers to Charles. Although it occurs before the noun..it is still correct usage)

It is not technically correct as
Reasons:

The clauses i) (Charles Lindbergh, for his attempt at a solo transatlantic flight, was very reluctant to have any extra weight on his plane)
ii) he therefore refused to carry even a pound of mail, despite
being offered $1,000 to do so.

are independant. and hence they should be either separated by a fullstop or semi colon (';') but not comma(,) .

Or they they should have some conjunction between them as a connector.
