modusoperandi
In order to evenly and effectively paint a rough surface, it is necessary to sand it and apply primer before applying the paint. (A) it and apply primer before applying the paint (B) it and prime it and paint it © it, then prime it, then paint it (D) the surface and apply primer before you apply paint to the surface (E) the surface, apply primer to the surface and then paint it
celesking
I'd go with E. (A) it and apply primer before applying the paint (to what, the surface or primer?) (B) it and prime it and paint it (again .. three it s) © it, then prime it, then paint it (again .. three it s) (D) the surface and apply primer before you apply paint to the surface (fairly clear .. but wordy) (E) the surface, apply primer to the surface and then paint it (I'd assume it refers to the surface) Any other thoughts? chatru
Out of "A" "D' and "E" I will go with "A" Clue it(rough surface) and apply primer before applying the paint .....very clearly here it referes to rough surface
battle-2007
Can anyone explain why B and C are wrong, specifically why C is wrong ,the repetitive it does it not refer back to rough surface.

kikipooh
It was between A & E for me. Can someone explain?
LegoLife
My answer is A. Between A and E, I observe that the farther you place "it" from the referrant, the more the choice is incorrect. (A) it and apply primer before applying the paint - it refers to the surface. (E) the surface, apply primer to the surface and then paint it - surface or primer???
