Lack of dissipation ->causes-> sound to travel enormous.

    E x changes the causation & meaning
As a result of - is redundancy
    A, D out
    C seems run-on & not a modifier
B acts as a proper modifier with a past participle.

    So, answer should be B.

Please tell the OA and the source

    C , D run-ons. so ruled out.

A - Sound ..., prevented from dissipating its acoustic energy
B - Sound ..., prevented from having its acoustic energy
    E - Sound ..., preventing ...

The subject of this sentence is Sound.

In case of A , B Sound prevented ..gives a passive tone. so not prefering .

E sounds better of the worst available options.
