    Credited for/with???

    A. Public experts credited California's smoking rules for having caused a huge drop in the number of smokers that is five times greater than seen around the world as a whole.

    B. Public experts credited California's smoking rules with having caused a huge drop in the number of smokers that is five times greater than that seen around the world as a whole.

Which sentence is correct - A and B?

    Thanks...

Thanks for your reply. In general, "credited for" is also correct. But did you mean that "credited with" is correct in the above question?

If it helps UK usage is: give credit for, but be credited with.

If I can add on Rawjosh..

    A is credited with B

    OR

    B is credited to A

    Example :

The CEO was credited with the company's spectacular growth.
The company's spectacular growth was credited to its CEO.

    Hope this helps !
