i know - strain X(noun) and strain on X(noun).....havent heard of strain for

well I meant changing the meaning as in -1) x, with y, leads to Z
2) x that,because of y, leads to Z

1 says that x and y are two independent things but they together cause Z, but 2 says, X which is caused because of Y leads to Z - as if it is mandatory to have Y as a factor- hence changes meaning.

Ok If one of the option was

According to some economists, Japan is in danger of plunging into a depression with double-digit unemployment that ould severely strain a society that regards lifetime employment as a virtual right of citizenship.

Is this correct. I have made some modification in C to get this option.
