A B C have passive voice. So ignored them
and incorrect idiom usage..prevent from is the correct usage.

Between D and E. E is clear and concise. So i think E is the answer

Isn't "but such laws have needed the further support" bit awkward in E.

Shouldn't it be "but such laws needed the further support".

I didn't get this usage of "have" here. Can somebody explain?

Scorpion.. i agree with u.. but in this case its more of choosing the best option..
    A B C are awkward.

With D - 'restraining trade' is a noun phrase, we need an infinitive here.. so E

@scorpian: A,B and C are clearly out of scope beacause of passive voice.
    left with D and E.

D- uses WHICH and CONSPIRING ON RESTRAINING TRADE, it sounds awkwards and vebose.

So, E perfect better among all options.

I may be wrong, correct me if I am.

    IMO E...
Confusion was between D and E. In D, Anti trust laws is far from prevented that modifies it and is not correct.
@ scorpion: 'have needed' in E explains that the statement is in present contineous. Have is there as laws is prural.
