Hello to all,
Buddies i am a bit confused. I thought that when you say "the media" it means singular. if it is true then directly all answers can be eliminated except for D. Also if it is true then is it true that every ime you preceed a noun with The it becomes singular . would appretiate help on my stupid question. |

mchammer,
You are right when you consider that a noun preceeded when by an article like 'the', 'a' or 'an' usually connotes singular in number, however in context to this question stem, since 'they' is used to refer to the subject later in the sentence, it seems like 'the media members' are being referred to, hence going by that logic, one must consider the subject to be plural in number. Remember GMAT tests best not right in most cases. HTH |
