ABC- Which wrongly modifies patients

D : their - possesive Pronoun usage is ambigous ( can be analgesics/patients)

E : correct

The word potential must be followed by a noun, hence a gerund is appropriate, hence the only options are B & E.
B is out as 'their' is ambiguous.

I'll go with D.

Correct idiom is potential to. 'their correctly refers to analgesics when it comes to the act of relieving pain.
