Compare with is used to compare similar things.
Compare to is used to compare non-similar things. I guess here compare with is correct : toms car cannot be compared with his brother’s? Just as…so too is a correct idiom. Just as…so is as well. Independent from is correct idiom. Decide on? No idea Debate over.. whether is correct idiom. Conform to/ with? No idea. Consider ... (nothing) is correct idiom. Consider shud not be be associate with any preposition. Instead of, rather than both are correct. Instead of is used for substitution and rather than will be used for to show preference. different from is correct idiom. |

Compare usually takes the preposition to when it refers to. The activity of describing the resemblances between unlike things:
• People sometimes compare the human brain to a computer. The human brain & a Computer is two different entity . Compare takes with when it refers to the act of examining two like things in order to discern their similarities or differences: • The police compared the forged signature with the original. Rule 1: Compare to compares unlike things, whereas compare with compares like things. Rule 2: Compare to is used to stress the resemblance. Compare with can be used to show either similarity or difference but is usually used to stress the difference. Just as…so too are correct idiom . Use as when you want to focus on two nouns doing two actions. However, little trick is that "just as" can replace "in the same way that..." Instead of, rather than both are correct . Instead of is used for substitution . rather than is used for expressing a preference for one thing over another thing. "I need X rather than Y" does not connote "I need not Y" -Shiv |
