Divide your RCs into 2 categories, the small and the big ones. Any RC ~50 or greater than 50 lines categorizes as a big one.
Here are some good housekeeping rules: 1. Read the first Q before reading the RC, you atleast know what to look for in the RC the first time. 2. If the passage is a BIG one, read the first and the last paras extra carefully. 3. Make notes for all paragraphs in your pad; notes could be just arrow type denotions or some other notations that make sense to you and which carry the gist of the para. 4. Some RC questions can be seen as a CR as well. You need to focus on what you need to answer to . Hope this helps. |

Even i've been following the strategy as Suwarna has mentioned, yet, i see that ,with the time constraint , it is is dificult to get them right. SO as soem one has mentioned here, i guess the best way tp tackle it , is by giving it more cushion time by getting faster with the CR and SC parts.

verbal is a weak point of mine....it's not if i spend less time in sc and more time in rc i would get things wright.....whenever i spend min time in sc i tend to score min marks in the sc. it's like less is the time spend in a particular part lesser is the score in that part and vice versa.....so how to overcome that....any suggestions.

What do people think is the best way to prepare for the verbal section. I have seen alot of postings and these are some conclusions, please let me know.
1. For senetece correction use Manhanttan GMAT 2. Use OG11 Anything else that I should know? Besides practice from the OG 11?? |

well, i have not given gmat but in my mock tests(RC) i have consistently scored good. My strategy is to read comprehension really carefully and once i have read that, i do not have to look at it again except in cases where para (or line) number is mentioned.
Well, i believe the best strategy is read a lot...always read newspapers and never miss loong articles...develop the reading habit and try to keep things in your brain. |
