GMAT Books

Hi All,

I am an aspiring student at one of the top 5 business schools and am aiming for an atleast 760. I have about 2 months to prepare and want to dedicate them fully. Please suggest an alternative on buying the OG 10,11,12/ Kaplan/Manhattan Manhattan GMAT/ Baron's etc. I was wondering that even if I get 10 books, that would cost me atleast $300.

Any suggestions and advice is appreciated. Thanks much!

Are you particularly strong in any area, such as quant, or are you needing a lot of work in all areas?

Hi galaxia,

I found the experiences shared in this site very handy.

1400+ GRE Prep

The author himself scored 780 and has shared details of this GRE Preparations and recommended other sources and ebooks too. I wish you luck with your preparations.

That looks like a great link. I think I'm going to use it to. There are also a lot of great tips on this website under Just Finished My GMAT.

Thanks for the information everybody. I took GMAT PREP without any preparation just to test the waters. My result was 640/76%. Verbal-32/64%, Quantitative-45/75%. I think I need to study both pretty hard for 760+.

Reading these forums, I am thinking of buying and starting with OG 10. Please let me know if I should buy OG11 or some other version instead. I have no idea what books are good and am just going by everybody feedback and experience listed on this website.

Thanks All!

I've looked at the 9th, 10th, and 11th editions of the OG. The 10th edition contains the 9th edition plus a lot more problems, so forget the 9th edition. The 10th edition contains many more questions than the 11th edition, but from what I understand, extra questions from the 10th edition were taken out and used in software, which one I'm not sure, because I've heard there are two sets of software, one from Pearson and one owned by GMAT. On another thread on this forum, a person says that the OG 12th edition also introduces 300 more questions too. I don't know personally though.

I don't know, but TominTampa just posted a thread asking for feedback because he thinks the quant is more difficult in OG 12. So it might be worth getting. I bought the OG 11 rather cheaply on Amazon. I don't know how far I want to go with all of this though. I already have lots of resources.
