The SHarp End
Hello to everyone. I am relatively new to this website, and since now I haven’t posted anything, but I’ve just found something that might help you in your journey to beat the GMAT challenge.
Yesterday I watched a movie entitled THE SHARP END. At first in might seem that it has nothing to do with taking the GMAT, but in fact it does. The movie is about climbing. Last month I took the GMAT, but unfortunately my result wasn’t satisfying. I got 510 after almost two months preparation. Now I started all over again and I intend to try it again in September. The thing that lowered my score was the verbal section. I got 42 in math and 19 on verbal witch was pretty low in comparison with my preparation results. Now a started all over again and I hope that it will work this time. The day before the test and on the actual test day I was nervous. I still don’t know why. I knew that I needed more preparation and I new that I can try the test again, but I was nervous. Even during the test my heart was beating faster than usual, which probably lowered my concentration. Was I afraid, or it was my ambition or desire to get a good result? I still can’t answer this question. Well, back to the movie. It is documentary about people who CLIMB. People who know that one mistake could have serious consequences and even cost their lives. But they still do it, they do not think about mistakes, they do not think about results, they just take the challenge and enjoy it. This is what I think the GMAT should be. But, still, it is so hard to accomplish. So, I recommend that everyone watch The Sharp End, it will worth an hour of your time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDmJZ2aEMr4 Last edited by aarok : 2009 July 14th at 11:41 AM. |
