Need advice!

I studied from Kaplan 800 and solved all the questions in OG 12 already. I am aiming for 700-750. I received the following scores. After receiving my 700 in practice tests, I registered to the test for the 14th of this month! Though I feel I am getting better at this, my scores are falling down! I need some experience talking now I read in one of the recent posts that OG12 is useless. Could my problem be related to it?

Keep in mind that none of the tests you've taken are "official" GMAT tests. Rather, they are simply the best copies that these companies could produce. Manhattan does a great job with their tests, but I think that many people would agree that PR and Kaplan's tests are not terribly accurate. Don't worry about those scores at all.

Your scores are improving nicely on Manhattan GMAT, which suggests that you are indeed getting better! Whenever possible, keep working through the official material, especially GMATPrep and GMAT Focus. Much of the OG (and Verbal and Quant Review books) will be easy for you, but they still give you exposure to the real question style of the GMAT, and some of the harder questions will definitely prepare you well for the test. Manhattan GMAT tests are also good--keep going with those, they look like they're helping.

Good luck on the 14th!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Many things can easily get one down in this process and reading mlsbbe's topic on og12 right after receiving 580 was one of them. I looked over analyses of Kaplan's and PR's free tests. I am not upset with those scores I received anymore as I now feel they down grade scores on purpose.

edit: By the way, did you already take the GMAT?
edit2: What is GMAT Focus? Can I work with GMATPrep more than twice?

Hi,

Browing throgh the forum, I found that Kaplan underestimates the score, so you can add 50-100, but I am not sure. GMATprep is the best indicator of scores. U can practice as many times GMAT Prep..but only two exam sets are there....

I have only 3 days until the test. I took GMAT prep #1 on monday, scored 680 (48Q-7wrong-, 35V-12wrong 8 wrong in last 10 questions -). Then I took GMAT prep #2 today, I could not do easiest questions, in math, - first 5 all wrong - so I closed it in the middle.
Now, I am totally lost, I dont know what to expect anymore. Should I cancel the test or should I take it and cancel it once its over? But even if I cancel it to study more, I dont have any more practice tests left. I dont I will be able to sleep in the next 3 days.

I took the test today. After 8 weeks of 3 hours a day studying, I was hoping to score at least 650. But I did it so poorly in quantitative section that I had to cancel it at the end.

Quantitative section was much harder than Gmat prep questions. I had to guess the answer for at least 8-9 questions and I was not sure with my figures with quite a few. Questions were very different from any of the preparation material I studied. I will buy the The Official Guide for GMATŪ Quantitative Review, 2nd Edition tomorrow and start studying from there.

edit: I am sorry for deleting the questions but I realized we could not share the questions we countered during the exam. I dont want any trouble.

Why did you chose "none" for the first question, the answer is b.

for second question 1/2 is the answer
