GMAT vs. GRE (but not in the way you might think)

Hi everybody.
I'm not a native english speaker so keep that in mind when choosing what would be best for me. I do although speak a decent english.
I am going to apply for a business school which requires a GRE or GMAT score to the beginning of the next schoolyear, and the problem for me is the following.
This school requires a GMAT score of 650 or a GRE score of 760 in the quantitative part. As for me, I'm 18 years old, and I could begin studying right now if that's needed. My knowledge in mathematics is uprising as I'm studying it every day, and my english is as you see not perfect but decent. A 760 p. in the quantitative part of GRE must be considered very hard. And a GMAT of 650 cannot be very easy either especially when considering that GMAT is the harder test. Also, the average age of a GMAT testtaker must be over 18 I suppose, am I right?
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Hi, i haven't taken any of the tests yet (i'll start studying next month for the GMAT), i'm not a native english speaker as well, but for what i've heard and been told - my friends are in the same situation - they took a 12 week course, studied hard (2 h -day) and 2 weeks more of self-preparation. This one friend did all that and she scored 650, now she's actually retaking it 'cause she thinks she could have done it better. I think you should take the GMAT since it seems to be not that hard if you dedicate a very decent portion of your time to study, plus, english is not a prob. for you and apparently 650 is not impossible at all. Good luck.

The Math in GRE is easier (check the problems discussed on this forum). Furthermore, you will need to only concentrate on the Quantative section in GRE to get 760Q+ but in order to get 650 on GMAT you need to be good in both sections.

I took the GMAT September 12 and was highly disappointed and scored a 450 26-scaled verbal and 26 math and a 6.0 on the essays. I took the GRE today and got an 1180 490 verbal 720 math. I found the GRE waaaayyy easier! The essays are basically the same but you get 45 minutes in the analysis of an issue on the GRE as opposed to 30 mins on the GMAT. The math is much much easier. I also found the verbal easier to even though I didn't do very well. It's at least easier to prepare for, you just have to study vocab vocab vocab. I found the GMAT sentence correction which tests your grammatical skills challenging and the reading comprehension questions more difficult as well. Overall, GRE is the much easier and not as taxing as the the GMAT. The GMAT is nearly 4 hours long and the GRE is only 2.5 hours. Even if English is not your first language go for the GRE. GMAT is soo long and abstract
