Official GMAT book vs. Kaplan Test Prep Book

It would seem obvious to chose the official guide to the GMAT as my test book material. However, I have heard great things about the Kaplan GMAT book. Does anyone have any experience in choosing between the two and which one would you prefer if you were shooting for a good score in a relatively short period of time, say two months?

Thanks.

The OG book is great. It has plenty of questions for you to work on and detailed explanations for the answers. The Kaplan Book, on the other hand, has tough questions to work on (I heard). So I think that a combo of the two would be good for your preparation. But if you're going to choose just one book, I'd go with the OG. Hope it helps!

Does anyoneelse have anything to add?

hi guys even im preparing for my exams and a combination of both is really good.............because u hv both detailed explanations (Official Guide) and tough problems to work on (Kaplan)............try both, but first go through all the basics given in OG on each topic jus to brush up and then work both the books simultaneously............
