Exactly one month until test. Need advice to push 660 to 700.

Hi All.

I am scoring 660 in practice. I took a GMATPrep today and received Q44 V38. I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me in the last month of my preparation on how to possibly push through to a 700 actual score. Is this possible?

I am going to devote every waking moment I have to studying in this last month's time.

Any advice would be helpful! I have yet to go through my test to see what I missed. I know I ran out of time more or less and had to guess on the last few of each section.

Thanks!!!

Meghan

Hi Meghan,

You may take tests from GMAT BIG CD and evaluate your strengths and weaknesses through their detailed review section. Their scoring pattern is such tht you may score low, so you should expect around 200-250 more in your real tests. Worth giving a try.

Hope the above tip helps.

All the Best!

Hey meghan, don’t worry The best thing to do is practice and really know your stuff. Just take as many practice tests as possible,…now days there are so many online resources are available for u to take a practice test. For me examville.com works the best. The best part about their test is that you get a detailed review page after finishing the test so u can evaluate your own mistakes. Lots of timed practice tests and answers...........Hope this will help u...........best of luck........

Thanks guys. Well.. a 4,000 dollar Princeton private tutor helped. Lol. I took the GMAT last year and scored a 550 with 6 AWAs. I was so devastated after an entire summer of prep. This year I am much more prepared and in a better mental state. 660 is where I am at right now. That was my GMATPrep score. Is this accurate???

For verbal I am using PR techniques of how to break down arguments etc. I am very strong in SC so not much work there.. just some idioms and review of the rules. Also, pick up the Manhattan GMAT workbooks.. they are great.

I'm worried about a months time. Ugh.. not that long! 4 weeks go by fast.

I just took an 800 score verbal full length and scored 43. I got 30 out of 41 right only though so not sure how accurate that is.

Does anyone know if their CATs are adaptive?

This test is purely mental. We can all conquer it!!!

GMATPrep is my guess. Have you done both of those? Maybe download the Manhattan tests but for some reason I think they are wrong. I got a 700 on one today but had a lot wrong. Not sure if they are skewed or not. Was very strange.

Hi saumyakumar123,

You can take Mock tests by BIG CD. They are tough and give you an analysis which helps you know your weaknesses. Their scoring pattern is little tough, so dont get demoralised if you score less. However, the scoring pattern should not refrain you from taking their tests. Their questions are amazing. Go give it a try!

It depends. You might have got the easy questions wrong and all the tough ones correct, so overall you recieved a decent score even though the number of questions you answered right were not that many.

I remember getting such skewed scores in GmatPrep as well, but then realized that I was making small mistakes on the esay ones and was getting the tough ones correct

Hope this helps..
Cheers..!

So I guess test day is a crapshoot! I am just going to be confident. I'm so sick of letting this test conquer me. I belong in a top business school and I'm not going to let this standardized test stop me from accomplishing that. I sit for it on the 21st. Two weeks left!
