missionGMAT
Hi all, I gave Kaplan free test last weekend and I got a score of 630. There was no score given for Individual sections rather percentiles. the breakup is as: Quants: 83 percentile Verbal: 89 percentile Can anyone help me with getting an idea as to where I may stand as compared to the real GMAT. I have heard that Kaplan normally scores lower than the real exam. Was wondering how much lower. Thanks in advance!
Sarka003
Hey MissionGMAT, Kaplan "used" to score lower earlier i.e. before June 2010 but the algo they currently use does not give deflated scores. I have used Kaplan, MGMAT(720) and GMATprep(720,690) and apart from my Kap Diagnostic(620) I have most of my KAP scores around 730-760. The quant in Kaplan is slightly easier than what I have experienced with either MGMAT or GMATprep whereas the Verbal section is a real terror. Infact most of the time I finished quant with more than 15mins to spare. I think if you are trying to gauge your performance level GMATperp would be a better option else try giving another Kap CAT and if your quant score is still below 95%ile then I suggest you practise more quant, don't worry about VA section-89%ile is good for KAP. I will be giving my real GMAT in a couple of days, will post my score then.
