    Re: gmat in two months

I have bought the Manhattan GMAT books (all 7).

Out of all 7 of them, only SC is really good. It explains all the rules along with examples in a succint and easy to understand way. However, I would not recommend buying other 6 books - Math is OK - not complete though.

CR and RC is a waste.

The only way to get better CR and RC is practice. I personally don't find any strategies helpful. ETS is very true when it says its common-sense that is all you need for CR.

Understanding the RC passages is the key. There is no substitute for understanding. Its true that we need to read RC passages fast enough and skim and blah blah blah - but believe me Understanding is the key. If you skim fast and do not understand, there is no point. So read as many passages as you can. Start off the RC and CR with OG. They have given very good examples and plenty of them. Ofcourse real test examples are the most reliable and flawless ones. Then move on to Kaplan, Princeton, and all other materials.

Even I am trying to improve my RC. I am getting a little better at CR though. I get some wrong too.

    Hope this helps.

Get the Princeton Review Cracking the GMAT book and do all of the practice tests, excercises and read ALL of the verbal strategies. Also buy the Official Guide from mba.com if you don't have it do everything in that.

    HI All,

I have joined this forum two days back...still going throught the threads

I am planning to write GMAT next month. I started preparing for GMAT last month and having tough time with Verbal section (I took Princeton diagnostic test sometime back and got 540 due to Verbal section). How to improve the score in verbal section especially in RC/CR?

    Cheers,
    Krish
