Hey all u Indians out here,

Would anyone be able to tell me how close the IMS tests come to predicting the actual GMAT tests? Both the paper based as well as the ones on CD. I have the correspondence course from India.

i have heard from this forum itself that IMS is not gmat oriented .
me too thinking of picking up the correspondence pack . let me know how the material is .

I am having the Max GMAT from IMS. I ordered it because of their reputation for CAT-prep (IIMs) but I was disappointed to see the level in Verbal. Verbal was not at all GMAT oriented.

Also, mba05 had suggested me to just go through the Quants-I and II, and same I would suggest to anyone .

IMO, do the verbal from other standard preping s/w not from IMS. they simply do not seem GMAT oriented.

About how close their test scores are, I am not in a position to tell since I have not taken real GMAT. I think mba05 would be the right person if he had tried his luck on the tests of MaxGMAT as well.

I vent seen it(ims mat) but ve read somwhere on ths forum tht its not tht gud most of material is copied from there cat prog(brm) and same for strategies(copied from pr kaplan).also its always better to prepare from who knows the best i.e. if u r prep for cat nothin can beat thm and for gmat i will always suggest likes of kaplan and pr coupled with og.

cat n gmat require separate strategies, not least becasue of the diff structore of the two exasm..stay away from maxgamt ...coz its nothng but a rehash of IIM-cat strategies....stuff that wont work or even appear on the gmat
