Thumbs up Need Help choosing a GMAT Course

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I'm planning to take my GMAT sometime in the fall.
    I'm aiming for 700+.
I have heard very good reviews about the Princeton Review courses and I'm planning to register for PR Courses. Is it worth the money ?

Is the Kaplan class better than the PR one ? Which GMAT books are better (Kaplan or PR ?)

    Please advise. Thanks !

    -Kousi

If PR and Kaplan are your only two choices, then I guess you should go with whatever one you've heard good things about in your area.

Otherwise, I think most people on here would probably recommend you just pick up their books and find one of the "alternative" GMAT classes like Manhattan GMAT or Veritas.

Don't waste your money on a class. If you have money to spend, hire a private tutor. I took the Veritas prep course and I found it to be a waste of money.

I would have to agree with stormgal. The prep courses are a waste of money - moreso, if you are aiming at 700+.
I took Kaplans classroom class (shelled out $1200) - at the end of the course, I scored the same as I did in kaplans diagnostic. IMO, the money is better spent on books or tutoring.

You can definitely score 700+ studying on your own. If you develop some discipline to study a few hours a day for several weeks, you can master the material and do well on the GMAT.

Plus, you have this great online community here to help you study.

Well.... depends on how u do on the power prep. If ur score in the practice exam is no what u want, then i suggest u use the princeton review book to study the basics. The Kaplan is excellent if u are aiming for higher than 600 because the questions are very challenging. But i suggest u take the first PP exam and see how u do. then do the questions and if u feel u are having some difficulties then use the princeton review because it teaches good test taking skills adn time management.

Will do self-study..No tutors or courses..I'm working so will have to manage both work and studies simultaneously...Do u guys think a 3 mnth time is enough for a 700+ score...
Could u guys guide me as to how do i kick start...Planning to refer Kaplan and Princeton..Is it enough ????
