Where do you guys live? I live in Thailand, and want to order the OG11 edition. But I need to take the test on this 11 NOV. I took the test on 21 OCT (600,M49,V22) after having done all OG 10edition(does not help much in verbal, huh?). So I need the book as soon as possible. Does anyone know how long does it take ETS to ship you guys the book? There is only one option for shipping(UPS international). I dont know whether I have enough time to study the book but I will try my best. However, anyone please suggest me the way to get the book as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Guys.. heres the update on my OG 11 practice.. I need your feedback as well there are some points to ponder upon for all those who are working on OG11.
i have completed 52% of overall OG 11 with break up as: RC-49%, CR-65%, SC-58%, that sums up 57% completion of Verbal section. PS-52%, DS-47%, that sums to 47% completion of Quant Section. Togather, it will be around 52% completion of overall OG11. Everyday I was doing 10 questions each of all the sections and reviewing all the explanations of both correct and wrong answers of previous day test set before doing next set of questions. This way i proceeded to complete 52% of overal OG11 with a Hit Rate (% of correct answers) of each section as : RC-80% (Correct: 55 out of 69 Questions). CR-81% (Correct: 66 out of 81 Qs) SC-68% (Correct: 54 out of 80 Qs). That sums up to 76% correct in verbal section.(Correct: 175 out of 230 Qs). PS-88% (Correct: 97 out 110 Qs) DS-86% (Correct: 69 out of 80 Qs). That sums up to 87% Correct in Quant Section (Correct: 166 out of 190 Qs). Overall I got 81% Correct. I must Thanks Parag here, I could able to get the above analysis done with the help of his excel sheet posted here.. Now as well know that OG 11 has arranged the questions in section according to the order of difficulty, from simple to most difficult. This means that first 50% obviously falls under simple and medium difficulty questions. My point of arugment here is - doing thing 81% hit rate is good enough overall or not. Please post your views in the interest of all working hard to make a hit .. At this state i made a review of all the questions which i got it wrong. i re-did all the questions which i got wrong from each section except RC ,. these are following results. . PS: I got again one question out of 13 previously wrong Qs. Which i believe is acceptable. DS: I got again two questions out of 13 previously wrong Qs. Which is ok. CR: I got again two Qs out of 19 previously wrong Qs. which is ok but then i felt like i could recall the correct answers without applying the logic to arrive at correct answers. Here comes the devil.... in SC. I got 29 questons wrong in first round and then again I got 14 questions wrong out of these 29 Qs in second round. This is really disturbing. I could easily conclude that SC is my weak areas and i have to go thru the basics again. But your valuable advice would definitely be appreciated. please post your comments on the above results. thanks in advance zash |

OG 11 Practice
You are doing pretty fine. Your hit rates will take a beating in the last sections - but believe me the easy to hard structuring is not very evident. I only found the last few qs a bit difficult. Otherwise there was no pattern.
One you are thru with the OG 11 and have the complete hit rates, IN the excel sheet, you can delete the figures for a few first sets (which are very trivial) and see a more realistic hit rate. Your SC needs more practice. Do one thing. For each question of SC you get wrong, from the SC answers in OG answers, list out the type of mistake it was - For Eg, Verb Form, Parallelism etc. Then make a Pie Chart and see which areas you are getting mugged. Like , I was getting mugged in "Verb Form". Then pick up a good book - For Eg Wren & Martin and go thru that part. You should get better. Make lots of Flash cards with Eg of Verb Form SCs and soon you will start catching patterns. Bye Parag |

Thanks Parag for valuable feedback. Now that you are done with your G-Day, can you share with us what was your Hit rate at the end which transformed to 710..
It was very clear that my SC needs that extra attention to tackle it, I was very good at SC in the begining and even now. I did exactly as you said about tracking exact type of questions which I was making mistakes quite often. Biggest area where iam making most mistake is IDIOM questions followed by CONSTRUCTION & PREDICATION problems. Everything else seems to be under controlled. Iam making alot of Flash Cards for this, hope it will help to pull off from this issue at the earliest. One more thing I noticed, may be its mental fatigue rather than your skill which affect the hit rate. Iam able to do all the SC & CR questions correct when Iam doing those questions first and fresh. but since iam following the GMAT order of placing questions, Iam doing 20 Qs from PS then 10 Qs from DS Then 10 Qs from CR then 10 Qs SC and finally two passages of RC.. all these in one sitting simulating G_DAY atmosphere. So by the time iam coming to verbal section and that SC section Iam already half exhausted and want to run through it to get to the finish line. This is happening even while iam taking full length test. I believe it is stamina issue. Iam sure you might have faced the same problem but It would be great if you can share with us how you handled it. Thanks once again.. zash |

Hit rates being affected by Fatigue is very pertinent. I noticed a distinct drop in performance whenever I was extra tired / exhausted during the day and was doing these questions in the evening. Dont bother about that - G-Day you are going to go in fresh. However if you are talking about stamina to stand the 4 -hr GMat itself - the best way is to take as many prac tests as possible (I took some 15-16) Good news is your problem is in Idioms. Flash cards will take care of it because there is nothing to learn - just need to mugga-fy. Whats your weighted Hit rate coming to ? Bye Parag |

By the way, I have taken GMATprep First full length Test yesterday, I got 640 (Q43, V36). What do you think about it.. am i on track to reach 7xx level, My G-Day is on 15th Nov. I will finish OG by 31st Oct.or 1 Nov and for the next 10-14 days i will be doing only Full Length Test everyday. Thanks in Advance Zash. |

So please work hard and try to reach 700+ in GMAT Prep / 650+ in kaplan. You have some time in hand. Also dont just take tests the last 2 weeks. Keep revisiting your notes and funda part too. Did you do a score estimate on GMATClub - what are you getting there. Feed in you best Kaplan Score, Your worst PP Score, GMATPrep score and PRinceton Review Score. The estimator is fairly accurate (at least in my case it was). How much of the OG have you covered. If it is almost complete (meaning you have come into the tough zone) then this hit rate translates to about 660 on the Kaplan scale which is definitely 700+ in actual GMAT. If you are still someway from the end of OG 11 - then tighten your seatbelt cos the hit rates are going to drop as you reach the end of the OG11. Bye for now. Today is the last day for putting in the essays for ISB!! Working hard on them. Parag Parag |

Thanks Parag. I just got on to check my score estimator on GMATClub, it came out to be 669!!!.. you are right i need to put more effort..iam on it buddy.. thanks for your feedback..
I have completed 68% of overall OG11.. as you said rightly my hit rate is in shakey position averaging around 80% overall with 75% in verbal. .. By the way, Parag, since iam not applying in first round, today will not be the last day for submitting my ISB essay... because my G-DAy is on 15th..and according to my knowledge it is like- till the time official score reaches ISB, applicant is not considered for that round... is that right.. iam seriously looking forward to ISB.. do you thing i should rush to submit essays today even though my score does dot reach ISB before deadline.. thanks buddy.. in advance.. take care.. and my best wishes to you.. hope we be togather in the same batch in ISB.. zafar.. |
