Hi guys! I keep hearing people mentioning that Kaplan is teaching some -ing rule, and I'm wondering if you can remember what it is. I have several copies of various Kaplan books, including course manuals, but I don't recall coming across this rule, so perhaps it's a new thing.
Anyway, -ing's are tricky, of course, but I think it'd be hard to summarize in a pithy rule how to attack them. Does anybody remember what they were taught? And was it in the course or in one of their books? |

Erin:
I was taught that any choice that have "ing" word in it such as "being" or sentence beginning with "ing" words are likely not the right choice. I am not sure but I think I saw it in 800score course material as well. I am not happy with this specific case. Similarly, I do not agree with many course that teach you to skim RC passages (despite OG clearly sayING that one needs to understand the passage critically and carefully). I guess it is a balance. just rambLING. |
