PowerPrep not working - Gives modeswap error.

Hi all,

I installed PP (ppgmat30.exe) on a Win2k Professional pc.
I chose the "Giving my gmat in 2005" link and the software installed fine.

However when i click onthe application, it just wont come up and gives me an error.
i go to Start->Programs->Powerprep, the screen flickers for a second and gives me this error msg:
"modeswap.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being generated"

I keep getting this in all resolution modes. I made sure the pc knows about the largest resolution (620x480) as per the readme file.

However any amount of installing and re-installing did not cut it.

I have my exam in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. If so, please let me know if anything is missing.

I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
bb

Bronco...search for the file 'modeswap.exe' on your system and rename it to something else like 'modewapXX.exe' and then try running PP.
Looks like some kind of a display driver issue...

Hi, I am having a problem in the prep s/w of mba.com
I have tried the 3 steps. But the loading test screen continues for ever.
1. Load new jre from sun site,
2. Re-install the prep s/w
3. Install vga drivers from motherboard CD.
